Damon S. Manning is an attorney in the Northshore office of Schiff, Scheckman & White LLP, providing legal advice and representation on behalf of lawyers concerning matters of legal ethics and professional responsibility. Damon represents lawyers in defense of disciplinary complaints, formal charge proceedings, and reinstatement/readmission matters throughout Louisiana. With more than 15 years of experience in the attorney discipline system, Damon provides a distinctive and experienced perspective in guiding lawyers through what can be the most stressful experience in their professional careers.
Damon obtained his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University where he studied Criminal Justice. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 2002.
Damon is a former Investigator and Deputy Disciplinary Counsel for the Office of Disciplinary Counsel, Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board (1998-2014). During his tenure with the ODC, Damon rose to the rank of First Assistant Disciplinary Counsel, a position he held from 2008 to 2014. Damon has prosecuted professional misconduct cases throughout the state before Hearing Committees, the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board and the Louisiana Supreme Court.
Damon was formerly associated with the Baton Rouge based Callihan Law Firm, LLC (2014-2015) where he practiced both legal ethics and a general civil practice that included real estate, commercial and business transactions, construction law, personal injury, succession law and estate planning.

Damon S. Manning speaks about the rules of professional conduct and recent developments in the law at the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board’s annual Hearing Committee Training Conference. He has also presented numerous CLE seminars on legal ethics and lawyer discipline issues sponsored by the LADB and to various LSBA groups and private organizations.
